css_params=&#8221;&#8221;]<strong>STATE AGENCY FOR METROLOGICAL AND TECHNICAL SURVEILLANCE (SAMTS)<\/strong> is a state surveillance authority implementing the national policy in the field of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Market surveillance of products placed on the market and\/or put into service within the scope Directives and Regulations under the Union harmonisation legislation;<\/li>\n<li>Market surveillance of construction products; products related to the energy consumption as regards the eco design requirements; electrical and electronic equipment in relation to the restrictions of the use of certain dangerous substances and its waste;<\/li>\n<li>Technical inspection of high-risk equipment;<\/li>\n<li>Quality control of liquid fuels;<\/li>\n<li>Metrological supervision;<\/li>\n<li>Designation and supervision of conformity assessment bodies for products within the scope Directives and Regulations under the Union harmonisation legislation;<\/li>\n<li>Supervision of dam walls and related facilities;<\/li>\n<li>Quality control of solid fuels for domestic heating.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">The SAMTS activities&nbsp;are regulated by the following 10 laws:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">Law on technical requirements for products (LTRP);<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">Law on consumer protection (LCP);<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">Law on ambient clean air (LACA);<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">Law on measurements (LM) ;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">Law on automobile transport (LAT);<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">Waste management act (WMA);<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">Renewable energy sources&nbsp;law (RESL);<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">Law on protection against harmful influence of chemical substances and&nbsp; mixtures (LPHICSM);<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">Law on tourism (LT);<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">Water Act.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">&nbsp;The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.damtn.government.bg\/en\/about-us\/about-the-agency\/samts-today\/\">main objectives<\/a><\/span> in carrying out the SAMTS activities are strategic and operational.<\/p>\n<p>According to the actual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.damtn.government.bg\/wp-content\/uploads\/zakoni\/ustroystven_pravilnik_damtn.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rules of procedure<\/a> SAMTS has 462 employees and the following structure:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Management<\/strong> (President, 2 Vice Presidents, Secretary General);<\/li>\n<li><strong>Two financial controllers<\/strong>, directly subordinated to the SAMTS President;<\/li>\n<li><strong>General Administration<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>Directorate \u201cFinancial and economic activities and project management\u201d \u2013 D FEAPM<\/li>\n<li>Directorate \u201cAdministrative, legal and information services\u201d \u2013 D ALIS;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Specialized Administration:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Directorate General \u201cMarket surveillance\u201d \u2013 DG MS;<\/li>\n<li>Directorate General \u201cTechnical inspection\u201d \u2013 DG TI;<\/li>\n<li>Directorate General \u201cQuality control of liquid fuels\u201d \u2013 DG QCLF;<\/li>\n<li>Directorate General \u201cQuality control of solid fuels for domestic heating\u201d \u2013 GD QCFDH;<\/li>\n<li>Directorate General \u201cMetrological supervision\u201d \u2013 DG MSv;<\/li>\n<li>Directorate General \u201cSupervision of dam walls and related facilities\u201d \u2013 DG SDWRF;<\/li>\n<li>Directorate \u201cDesignation of conformity assessment bodies\u201d &#8211;
