STATE AGENCY OF METROLOGICAL AND TECHNICAL SURVEILLANCE with the financial assistance of the OPERATIONAL PROGRAM „DEVELOPMENT OF THE COMPETITIVENESS OF THE BULGARIAN ECONOMY” 2007-2013
On 18th September 2012, the State Agency for Metrological and Technical Surveillance (SAMTS), as a concrete beneficiary under the announced by the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism procedure for granting of gratuitous financial assistance under Priority axis 4 “Strengthening the international market positions of Bulgarian economy” of the Operational program „Development of the Competitiveness of the Bulgarian Economy” 2007-2013, Area of intervention 4.3 „Improvement of the national quality infrastructure”, signed a contract with the Contracting Authority of OP “Competitiveness” for implementation of a project named BG161PO003-4.3.02-0001-S0001 ” Strengthening the surveillance and control bodies at the State Agency for Metrological and Technical Surveillance as a part of the national quality infrastructure”.
The period of project implementation is 36 months and the total project amount is 5 865 541.38 BGN.
The following four main activities are envisaged to be executed for the project realization:
- Activity 1: Organization and carrying out of training of the SAMTS’s staff aimed at improvement of the administrative capacity related to the implementation of new market surveillance activities.
- Activity 2: Exchange of experience and best practices regarding the modernization of lifts manufactured before 1990, in order to reach a safety level approaching the requirements of the Directive 95/16/EC.
- Activity 3: Participation of SAMTS experts in the activities of European and international institutions and structures
- Activity 4: Improvement of the quality and quantity of services and activities for the business related to the surveillance and control functions of SAMTS.
All requirements for publicity and information regarding the project will be implemented during the project execution and after its completion.
Project implementation will lead to establishment of equal market conditions for the business through increasing of the efficiency of surveillance and control bodies in SAMTS – a part of the National Quality System. Thus, the access of manufactured products in the European market will be ensured, setting out our economic operators in equivalent and competitive position compared to European operators.
The improved technical equipment, mobility and continuous maintained professional competence of SAMTS’s employees will increase the efficiency of its surveillance and control activities, thereby will contribute to neutralization of unfair competition and stimulation of the production of high-quality and competitive products.
The procedure for direct granting is carried out with the financial assistance of the Operational program „Development of the Competitiveness of the Bulgarian Economy” 2007-2013, co-financed by the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund.
